Child’s Play

It’s been said about our event and video production that we make it look easy. But it really was child’s play last week, when our Managing Director’s son, Arran, and my daughter, Rachel, popped in for the day (It was official ‘Take Your Child To Work Day’, not some random skiving-off-school thing, honest).

Faced with the prospect of either assisting me (Kathryn Slater, senior Events Producer) in researching fabulous venues, sparkling entertainers and pertinent speakers, drafting creative proposals or crunching budgets, or with helping our MD Jonathan Young do – well, whatever it is he does – the kids chose to spend the day with our Post-Production team.

Because, as we all know, ‘Post’ is where the real magic happens.

Jenni, our wonderful in-house animator, took time out from creating characters for A Very Large And Somewhat Regal Bank, and laid on a full day’s Stop Motion workshop. A sort of Animation 101, if you will.

By the end of the day Rachel (10) and Arran (13) had created their own mini drama, entitled “Hit and Run” which involved various plasticine characters coming to a sticky end after a nasty accident with a Barbie car. Jenni added some whizz-bang graphics, and then we all sat down for a grand screening. Take a look and see how they did.

No plasticine animals, or children, were harmed in the making of this movie.
